Drug overdose risk landscape

Density of fentanyl, heroin, and methamphetamine charges across geocoded booking records over the last 12 months. This is not a record of overdose events — those data feeds are restricted to law enforcement (ODMAP) or aggregated and delayed. Instead, this shows where the substances driving overdose deaths in NC are concentrating, drawn entirely from public arrest records. Heat = felony severity counts more than misdemeanor. All individuals are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

Every point is one charge from a public booking record. Hot spots show where these substances cluster geographically. Click into Hot Spots to see the per-property breakdown with owner-of-record links.
